We’re building for a sustainable tomorrow.

At GRC Limited, we lead with purpose, integrating sustainability into every facet of our operations to create lasting value for communities and the planet.
GRC is dedicated to sustainable growth, recognizing the growing importance of strong environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance for our stakeholders. We believe that building strong relationships with our partners and communities is vital to achieving long-term sustainability and business success.
As a leader in construction and property development, we are mindful of the significant resources, energy, and materials our industry consumes. That’s why we prioritize improving energy efficiency, conserving water, managing waste responsibly, and minimizing emissions in every project we undertake. We place equal emphasis on the safety and well-being of our workforce, recognizing workplace safety as a critical priority for the construction sector. Data privacy for our customers is safeguarded through robust systems, and we maintain a zero-tolerance stance against bribery and corruption, upholding compliance with economic, labor, and social regulations.
Leading with Purpose: Embedding Sustainability in Every Decision We Make
At GRC, sustainability is embedded in our corporate governance framework, ensuring that our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices are strategically aligned and effectively implemented. The Board provides overall direction, overseeing the development, adoption, and monitoring of sustainability strategies and policies.
Central to this effort is the Sustainability Management Committee (SMC), chaired by the Group’s CEO with the CFO as deputy chairman. The SMC leads the execution of sustainability initiatives and ensures regular progress updates are shared with the Board. Supporting the SMC is a dedicated project team comprising executives from across GRC’s diverse business units. This team is tasked with gathering ESG performance data, monitoring key indicators, and coordinating sustainability reporting under the guidance of a senior project coordinator.
Collaboration is at the heart of our approach, with senior representatives from various business functions playing active roles in advancing sustainability initiatives. Together, these efforts ensure accountability, transparency, and continuous progress toward GRC’s sustainability goals.
Finding What Matters: Defining Our Sustainability Impact
We follow the GRI standards and principle to determine material topics for sustainability reporting. We conducted our first materiality assessment in 2017 to identify Chip Eng Seng’s significant impacts on the economy, the environment and society while developing our inaugural sustainability report. Senior management representatives from all business units and functions attended a materiality workshop conducted by an external sustainability expert to review and assess stakeholder concerns and the critical sustainability issues relating to our business activities.
Our updated material topics, where they occur and our management approach can be found in our latest Sustainability Report.
Collaborating for a Greener, Brighter Future
Stakeholder engagement is integral to shaping GRC’s sustainability journey. Our stakeholders include customers, employees, contractors, suppliers, investors, community members, industry partners, and regulators. By listening to their perspectives, we gain valuable insights into their priorities and expectations, which inform our sustainability strategies.
Throughout the year, we engage stakeholders across various platforms, ensuring their feedback drives meaningful improvements and aligns with our long-term goals. Engagement frequencies and methods are tailored to each stakeholder group to maximize mutual value.
