The Group started out as a sub-contractor in the 1960s and has grown to become a reputable main contractor for public and private sector projects today. The Group’s construction business is operated in two wholly-owned subsidiaries: Chip Eng Seng Contractors (1988) Pte Ltd (“CESC”) which mainly engages in public housing projects, and CES Engineering & Construction Pte Ltd (“CESE”) which undertakes construction for private and executive condominium as well as industrial and commercial projects.
Both companies possess the highest A1 grading in General Building from Building and Construction Authority (BCA) which allows them to tender for public sector projects of unlimited contract value. In addition, CESC and CESE have A2 and B2 grading in Civil Engineering from BCA which allow them to tender for public sector projects valued at up to S$85 million and S$13 million in contract value respectively.
